Texas electric companies across the state are celebrating the 40th anniversary of Earth Day...
Oncor: On Earth Day, Oncor's Take A Load Off, Texas® Education Center will be in Pegasus Plaza and AT&T Plaza at EarthFest Dallas. Learn fun and easy ways to save energy while touring interactive exhibits. Oncor's Take A Load Off, Texas is a consumer outreach program designed to educate Oncor's residential and commercial consumers about energy efficiency and the measures they can take to conserve. Take A Load Off, Texas travels throughout Oncor's service area with exhibits and information on items such as lighting, solar power, appliances, air-conditioning units and insulation. More.
CenterPoint Energy: In honor of Earth Day, CenterPoint is partnering with the Arbor Day Foundation to plant trees in neighborhoods across America. For a limited time, when you enroll in online billing a tree will be planted in Texas on your behalf. More.
Entergy Texas: In its ongoing effort to provide quality service to customers and promote the preservation of the environment, Entergy Texas is encouraging customers to “Go PaperFREE” for Earth Day.
According to research, if all U.S. households viewed and paid their bills electronically each year, it could save 18.5 million trees. It would also avoid 2.2 billion tons of toxic air pollutants and 1.7 billion pounds of solid waste, and save 15.8 billion gallons of water. More.
Pedernales Electric Cooperative: PEC is encouraging members and employees to take its Earth Day Pledge to conserve electricity and make environmentally friendly choices. In taking the pledge, you promise to do all you possibly can to reduce your electric use on Earth Day. More.

TXU Energy: As part of its continued commitment to the environment, TXU Energy has created a website to enable users to find out more about Earth Day and to promote positive change in their lives to create a healthier planet. More.
Reliant Energy: In recognition of Earth Day on April 22, Reliant is buying Texas renewable energy credits (RECs) to meet the estimated electricity needs of all of its residential and small business customers across the state for that day. More.
Houston Astros and Reliant Energy: In recognition of the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day, Major League Baseball Clubs will host a variety of greening events and incorporate environmental initiatives into their games to help raise awareness for environmental issues. In Texas, the Houston Astros 2010 Play Green® Campaign launches on Earth Day. Activities include a Community Garden Project, Greenest Classroom Contest, Earth-Friendly Expo, and Play Green® Cap Giveaway. The Astros will also purchase renewable energy credits from Reliant to ensure that the power supply at Minute Maid Park for the Earth Day game will be "green power". More.
