$1.2 Trillion in Savings
July report on future energy efficiency opportunities found that by 2020 Americans could reap $1.2 trillion in savings by unlocking the potential
of this "vast, low cost energy resource".

Over the past several months the TexasIsHot campaign has worked to demystify energy efficiency and show that decreasing energy use does not mean having to dramatically change your lifestyle. New energy saving products, coupled with increased demand response technologies are making it easier than ever to integrate energy efficiency into the everyday routine of Texans across the state.

The need for this type of focused and comprehensive energy efficiency campaign was underscored in a recent report by McKinsey & Company, Unlocking Energy Efficiency in the U.S. Economy. This report found that over the next 10 years, more than one trillion dollars in savings is possible through increased energy efficiency, but education efforts like TexasIsHot are critical to ensure this energy saving potential is realized. In fact, education is promoted throughout the report as one of the most significant ways to remove barriers and increase efficiency on all fronts, particularly residential.

Since the March launch, the TexasIsHot campaign has made tremendous strides in promoting energy efficiency to Texans across the state, but now we need your help to spread the word. Energy efficiency – including something as simple as turning off your lights to a complete energy audit -- is without a doubt the easiest option to lower bills, help the environment and lessen our state’s and nation’s energy dependence. But to work, we must first fundamentally change the way people think about their own energy use.

As we like to say, a little energy can go a long way. Please take a few minutes to spread the word:
